Co-op Student AccountThe Co-op student account is one of the best available to students but if you wish to compare it against the other banks then please check out our full student bank accounts comparison.

The Co-op 0% overdraft is guaranteed to every student as long as you are accepted to open the account. It increases every year up to 3 years and there is a 4th year at £2,000 available after you graduate. It is the best “guaranteed” overdraft that students can get their hands on.

Year 1 – £1,400

Year 2 – £1,700

Year 3 – £2,000

Going over the limit

If you ever go over the overdraft limit on your Co-op student account you will be hit with large fees. However, you can save yourself by talking to your bank and asking them to ‘arrange’ the overdraft with you. You will still be charged but it will soften the blow.

Arranged – 9.9%

Un-arranged – 15.9% plus £30 for unpaid items. The maximum for a quarter (about 3 months) is £150.

Co-op student freebies

There are currently no Co-op account freebies on offer.

It is important to remember that you do not choose a bank account solely from freebies. If you wish to compare all of the accounts on offer then you can check the main student account comparison.
